Buying a tractor can be confusing. Features and options vary from model to model, manufacturer to manfacturer.
John Deere tractors and attachments are backed by 160 years of experience. The John Deere Advantage - things that make
a John Deere tractor easier to purchase, easier to maintain, and more economical to operate.
|
|
The John Deere Advantage - Heritage
It all started in 1837 when John Deere was not a company, but one man, a blacksmith,
in the small frontier town of Grand Detour, Illinois. He had only one product - a plow that outperformed all others
in the moist, sticky prairie soils. From those humble beginnings Deere built a company dedicated to quality. He once
said, "I will never put my name on a product that does not have in it the best that is in me." It's a dedication you'll find
in all the equipment and services we provide.

Give these tractors a challenging task and you'll really notice the power. That's because these
engines have a lot of torque reserve. When the going gets tough, these engines don't quit. They keep
on working to pull you through, without downshifting.
|
|
These diesels are also tough because they have direct injection (4200 - 4600 only).
With direct injection, fuel is injected not into a precombustion chamber, but rather directly on top of the piston.
Direct injection means more efficient combustion, more horsepower per gallon of fuel, and quick starts in weather as cold as 0 degrees F.

Welcome to the unsupassed value of John Deere's all-new Advantage Series. Compare these tractors
to the competition. You will find the New Advantage Series Tractors deliver top-end quality and an
amazing bottom line.
|
|
Proven Reliability is in their bloodlines. While the 40-hp 5105 and 48-hp 5205 Tractors feature fresh designs,
John Deere engineers carried over several key features from the proven TEN Series line of Tractors. Most
importantly, the 3-cylinder POWERTECH engine is identical to the engine found in the premium-line 5210 Tractor. This engine delivers
high-torque, fuel-efficient power you can count on, everytime you turn the key.
|
|
Both tractors outgun economy-class competitive models. Feature for feature, no other tractors in this price range
can match the standard specifications the Advantage Series offers. Wet cylinder liners. Enormous, 22.4 gallon fuel tank with right- and left-hand
fill ports. Underhood muffler. In-line gears. Synchronized shuttle shift. More than 17 gpm of hydraulic flow.
Full power at the PTO. Retractable seat belts. Wet-disk brakes. A wide-open operator station. Plus much more.

5000 TEN Series Tractors deliver impressive power, easy operation, and legendary John Deere reliability.
Rugged 5000 TEN Series Tractors anchor the industry-leading John Deere agricultural tractor line.
They're proven workers, ready to give you a hard day's work at the turn of the key, year in and year out.
In fact, these tractors get some of the highest customer satisfaction scores of any of John Deere's popular tractors.
|
|
These tractors fill the bill as highly maneuverable utility machines on large farms. And their reliability and easy
operation match haying, loader tasks, and even light tillage on smaller farms and weekend acreages. And two narrow models
put compact power into orchards and vineyards.
|
|
POWERTECH engines represent the latest in powertech technology.
To meet emission requirements, John Deere engineers designed significantly revised engines that would not only meet
emission requirements, but also improve engine performance.
|
|
POWERTECH engines are the result. They feature a cylinder head design with revised intake manifold ports, larger valves and seats, and optimum
contouring of seat areas. A special re-entrant piston bowl design is located directly beneath the fuel injectors.
All these features drastically improve air flow and optimize combustion. Particulate matter is reduced and performance is improved.
|
|
These engines feature higher torque rise - the performance characteristic that lets you start heavy loads and power through lug-down situations with less downshifting.
They also maintain excellent fuel economy so you can work longer on less fuel. Large crankshafts and more internal and external ribbing enhances strength and improves durability.
These engines are built to perform, and built to last.

Choose the Transmission right for your operation and your budget. And shift smoother, easier, and quieter.
Three smooth transmission choices:
CollarShift Transmission - nonsynchronized
- Three forward gears and one reverse gear in each of three ranges for a total on nine forward and three reverse speeds.
- Nonsynchronized design - tractor must be stopped before changing ranges or gears.
- 2nd gear and reverse are positioned in-line to match forward and reverse speeds for loader work.
- Integrated park position.
- Speeds up to 17.9 mph with 15.5-38 tires; optional creeper to work as slow as 0.25 mph with 21.5L-16.1 tires.
- Economical choice when frequent speed changes are not required, like mowing.
SyncShuttle Transmission - synchronized gears
- Three forward gears and one reverse gear in each of three ranges for a total on nine forward and three reverse speeds.
- Synchronized design - you can depress the clutch and change gears on the go.
- A good choice if you need to change speeds or directions frequently.
PowrReverser Transmission - synchronized gears
- Four forward gears and four reverse gears in each of three ranges for a total on twelve forward and twelve reverse speeds.
- Synchronized gears - you can depress the clutch and change gears on the go.
- Left-hand, dash-mounted reverser levers let you shuttle smoothly and quickly between forward and reverse without clutching.
- Integrated park position.
- Standard wet clutch for longer life.
- Speeds up to 17.9 mph with 15.5-38 tires; optional creeper to work as slow as 0.38 mph with 21.5L-16.1 tires.
- A perfect choice for loader work.

Put yourself out front, and pull away from the rest. With 27 models to choose from, there is a 6000 TEN Series
tractor perfectly suited to you operation. Powered by new 4.5 L, 4-cylinder POWERTECH engines, these tractors
are designed to meet new emission requirements. And more importantly for your operation, they deliver increased torque
reserves and maintain excellent fuel efficiency. There's also enhanced durability features, like a larger crankshaft.

Enjoy clutch-free shifting three different different ways.
The optional PowrQuad transmission has become the world's most popular transmission in this horsepower class. And it's easy to see why.
- Four speeds are available in each range, and can be powershifted - shifted without depressing the clutch.
- You can also select forward and reverse directions without clutching, a handy feature that speeds back-and-forth work, like loader chores.
- Ranges are fully synchronized, so you can shift them on-the-go by depressing the clutch.
- The 16/16 PowrQuad configuration features four speeds in each of four ranges. With the direction reverser, that's a total of 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds.
- If loader work is a big part of your operation, you can opt for the left-hand power reverser. This option puts the direction reverser on the left of the steering
column. You can change directions with your left hand still on the steering wheel, while your right hand operates the loader.
- And the third PowrQuad configuration is the 24/24 option. It provides two additional ranges for a total of 24 forward and 24 reverse speeds. A left-hand reverser comes standard with this option.
